In My Mailbox (1)
Hosted by Kristi at The Story Siren, In My Mailbox is where you share the recent books you've bought/received/taken out from the library.
This is my very first In My Mailbox! I just came back from the library with some new books to read, so here they are:
Lullabies for Little Criminals by Heather O'Neill: At thirteen, Baby vacillates between childhood comforts and adult temptation: sill young enough to drag her dolls around yet old enough to know more than she should about urban cruelties. Motherless, living with a heroin adict for a father, and drawn into prostitution, Baby ultimately realises that the power of salvation rests in her hands alone.
Animals by Don LePan: Tammy kept losing jobs - at the checkout counter, as a hospital cleaner, and now with the before-and-after-school program. But what worried her most was Sam, her youngest. From the time he was very young it had been clear that something was wrong with Sam, seriously wrong. And though they didn't often speak of it, the whole family could certainly see it.
Killer Mousse by Melinda Wells: The first live airing of In The Kitchen With Della opens like other cooking shows - with a chef surrounded by bowls of ingredients in a shiny studio kitchen. But it ends like a crime-scene detective show - and Della is the suspected perp.
Death Takes the Cake by Melinda Wells: To help boost raiting for her show, humble host Della reluctantly agrees to enter a televised cake competition sponsored by Reggi-Mixx, even though the company's owner, Regina Davis, is an old college nemesis. When Della hears that competitive pastrymaking is a blood sport, she doesn't take it literally - until she finds someone drowned in a mixing bowl full of cake batter.
And those are the new books that I'm dying to read! What did you get? Feel free to leave a comment and a link to your IMM post!
