Midway Checkup: Killer Mousse

Midway Checkup is a feature on my blog where I post around halfway through the novel I'm currently reading. It provides me with the chance to give my opinion so far, predict what I think will happen, and write about my overall impressions.

Book: Killer Mousse by Melinda Wells

Plot Context: Della is the new host on a cooking show. On the day of her first live episode, a taste-tester drops down dead in front of the audience and the viewers after tasting Della's chocolate mousse. Can Della prove her innocence when all the signs point to her?

A cooking show and a murder mystery? Two of the things I love! And I must say, I'm enjoying this one so far. I find the plot unique and suspenseful! However, the writing is mediocre and nothing to brag about at all. I always intend to stop reading after a certain chapter, but find myself losing track of time and getting too much into the storyline!

Honestly, I have no speculation as to who committed the crime. I keep changing my opinion! I think it's one person for a few chapters, then I'm proven otherwise. I like to keep guessing until the very end! That's most likely why I'm liking Killer Mousse this much. So, keep an eye out for my review coming up in a few days!

I also like books that keep me guessing, as long as the answer still makes sense in the end ;) Enjoy the rest of the book!
