It's Monday! What are you reading? (4)

This is a weekly meme that used to be hosted at J. Kaye's Book Blog but is now hosted at Book Journeys. You post about the books you've read last week, and what you've moved on to this week.
Last week: Last week was a relatively normal week in terms of reading. I managed to finish a book on Saturday, Book of Clouds. It was really great! One of the best books I've read in a while, actually. If you've read my review, you'll know that it wasn't a classic book plot-wise. Book of Clouds was strangely composed, yet very outstanding. I recommend it to those who aren't action and adventure driven.

This week: Right after I was done writing my review for Book of Clouds, I started the next book on my list - A Table by the Window by Lawana Blackwell. It's supposed to be a mystery-ish book, but so far I haven't gotten that impression. I'm not even halfway done yet, so I'm hoping the best is still to come! A Table by the Window is pretty good, though. The writing is nothing compared to Book of Clouds, but it's not terrible either. Pretty average, I'd say. I should be done this one by the weekend, so keep an eye out for my review!

I read A Table By the Window when it was first published but I didn't remember that it was supposed to be a suspense novel.

Here is what I'm reading.

Jeanne - Ooh, that sounds great! I'll be looking forward to the review.

Christina - It's supposed to be about a murder that "threatens Carley's happiness" but I haven't read anything about it yet!

Juju - Aw, that's too bad! Hopefully that passes by quickly.

I always find it hard to read something new after finishing a book with truly great writing - I guess the next book always suffers in comparison!

Last week I finished South of Broad by Pat Conroy. I then started reading Revenge of the Spellmans by Lisa Lutz, which I finished last night. Now I've started Blue Christmas by Mary Kay Andrews. ; )
