Midway Checkup: A Table by the Window

Midway Checkup is a feature on my blog where I post around halfway through the novel I'm currently reading. It provides me with the chance to give my opinion so far, predict what I think will happen, and write about my overall impressions.
I'm a little over half-way done A Table by the Window, and I must say that I'm enjoying it. The plot is cute and is keeping me interested in turning the page, which is always a good thing in a book! I've probably mentioned this before in a previous post, but I've noticed that Lawana Blackwell's writing style is not entirely well-structured - at times it's difficult to follow the story when the main character is in one location, and then is suddenly somewhere else on the very next line! This has occured a few times so far, but it's nothing serious that detracts from the reading. It takes a few seconds to realise that the setting has switched, but it's smooth from there on.

On the back of the book it mentions a "mysterious murder", and this has yet to take place! I'm getting worried, because as I'm advancing through the novel I'm wondering if this event will seem rushed and poorly tied together in the end. I hope not, but I'm losing hope as each chapter progresses. It's bound to happen soon, so I'm anxious to finish this book! I'll be done in a few days, so be sure to check back for the review.

Love this middle-of-the-read report. Very entertaining and I learned a lot, too. Never thought about blogging about a book that I'm half way through. Good Job!

Thank you both. I like posting when I'm half way through a book so I can speculate a bit!
