Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:- Grab your current read
- Open to a random page
- Share two "teaser" sentences from somewhere on that page
Be careful not to include spoilers!
- Share the title and author, too.
Book: The Tent
Author: Margaret Atwood
"We ate the birds. We ate them. We wanted their songs to flow up through our throats and burst out of our mouths, and so we ate them. We wanted their feathers to bud from our flesh. We wanted their wings, we wanted to fly as they did, soar freely among the treetops and the clouds, and so we ate them."My teaser from last week was also from The Tent, and here's another. I love this passage - it's the beginning of a short story called, you guessed it, Eating the Birds. It's so strange, but I find it wonderful.

While it doesn't sound like my sort of read, I really enjoyed the imagery in this teaser. Great one :)
Here is my Teaser Tuesday :)
Poor birdies! They make for a great teaser though.
Oy, well that's interesting! Very detailed, those poor little birds.
Another fantastic teaser! I really really want this book.
Very creepy image! It sounds like they are eating songbirds rather than poultry.
I loved this book! Atwood is one of the best writers I have ever read
Ooh, I like the repetition. Margaret Atwood is amazing :)
Ooo, sounds interesting!
Thanks for all the comments! I love this passage, too. It was a very interesting story, to say the least.
